MUEZZI - what does it mean?

The legend says, that Mahomet, called the Father of Cats, had a favourite dear female cat. She liked to take rest together with her owner sleeping on his clothes. Once upon a time Mahomet was forced to get up and in order to prevent the cat from waking up he ordered his servant to cut a piece from his clothes where the cat was lying. But this is not all what the legend has to say. Mahomet, with his power, put his hands on the cat and gave her and all other cats in the world precious gift - the ability to fall on four legs. That cat was called MUEZZI...

I am professionally involved with cats since 1992 when I became a breeder. The purchase of a first cat was absolute coincident, but my next decisions regarding the growth of my cattery were taken consciously.

Through the next couple of years my adventures with cats I have made myself familiar with several types of breeds. First I was breeding Persian cats, than I included Exotics, and after that, through a short period of time Birman and Somalian cats. British appeared in my cattery already in 1995. Slowly I have started to back off from breeding other breeds till the moment they dominated my cattery.

Cats of this breed have dominated fully my interest in breeding cats. I always liked big cats, especially massive, quite, peaceful and more sticking to the ground, what means they keep themselves more to the ground than the ceiling. After I got more knowledge about this breed it happened that they meet all my expectations. What I appreciate most amongst their characteristics is that those cats are not getting offended. The other great thing about them, physical this time, is their fair coat, the only in its type, with fascinating softness and the same time a bit rough and elastic that I remember from my childhood from the touch of the plush bear. Light elastic coat fair coat is the reason why their coat never looks crumpled.

Finally I decided that the British would stay in my cattery for good. I have to admit that their short coat is easy to take care of and therefore I like them even more due to the fact that it doesn't require a lot of care. I have to admit that their short coat is easy to take care of and therefore I like them even more due to the fact that it doesn't require a lot of care. Beautiful and of a great quality coats in pastel colors with the silver flashes, so precious on shows, as well as their well build, massive bodies make out of every cat the future well presenting British. Good selection of animals in their line continuation reflected in keeping the best female cats in the cattery and search at other catteries the ones with required physical and character features has improved the breed standard of my cats.

The last reproductor of mine, blue British /BRIa/ Klifford Wonder, International Champion title in present, is giving his excellent British characteristics. Improvement of body build of kittens born in my cattery is easy to be noticed. Big, round head with well marked cheeks, short neck, wide chest and wide build short thick legs, compact massive body, thick tail make out of the kitten a great bear - well, lets say an impression of a bear. The picture is complete when you realize that they also walk like bears.

I would very much like every kitten coming out of my cattery to be strong in his breed type, that I would ask myself question comparing them "which kitten is better from another one?"

.At present I have amongst other purchased female cats next generation born in my cattery. They are all very young and will be tested in the future for their value for the cattery. Of course only the ones who are giving the best children with my male cat will stay. This will complete the selection of the female cats, reorganization of my cattery.

I also managed to achieve in my breeding work a very nice body build of female cats which is so important in this breed. The difference between the male and female of this breed is huge. A good male cat is liked most. His seeming slowness and heaviness add him dignity, big head placed on a massive neck, big cheeks, wide chest and massive body give him a bear look which people love, even the strongest opponents of cats. It is difficult not to be impressed by this cat and not to want him near you. They are fascinating cats, from their character as well as the looks. There is no way to escape from falling in love with them...
